Haas DC-3/40 – Gantry Mill for Long and Demanding Workpieces
The DC-3/40 is an advanced gantry-type drilling and tapping center designed specifically for machining long, narrow parts and high-volume production. With an impressive 2,000 mm (78.7") X-axis travel, the machine can handle workpieces over 2 m long, such as profiles, steel channels, angle iron, and pipes.
The gantry-type spindle head moves in the X and Z axes, while the table is supported along its full length in the Y axis, ensuring stability even under heavy loads. The standard DC-3/40 is equipped with a 40-taper spindle with a speed of 10,000 rpm and a 20-station high-speed tool changer. Optional 12,000 or 15,000 rpm spindles enable even faster and more efficient machining.
The machine was created with the construction, automotive and aviation industries in mind, where precision, repeatability and the ability to work on large components of various shapes are crucial.
