Haas Technical Education Center (HTEC)
The HTEC (Haas Technical Education Center) program is an initiative by the American company Haas, responding to the growing demand for qualified technicians and engineers in the CNC industry. It was created to attract young people to vocational schools by offering them the opportunity for practical training on state-of-the-art CNC machines. As part of the program, schools also receive support in enhancing the knowledge of teaching staff who prepare future CNC machine operators. Haas created and continues to develop the HTEC program worldwide—currently, approximately 3,000 facilities hold HTEC certification, and 50,000 students annually gain experience on Haas machines.

Practice is most important
By supplying educational institutions with machining equipment, Abplanalp simultaneously collaborates with suppliers of equipment used in production processes involving CNC-controlled machine tools. It offers schools products for tooling and upgrading Haas machines. Students learning production techniques must have the opportunity for practical hands-on experience with modern technology and the CNC machine tools they will encounter in their future careers in the industry.

The HTEC center equipment includes:
-
- a well-lit workshop with 2 new Haas CNC machine tools (milling machine and lathe),
- computer equipment for CAD/CAM design,
- ESPRIT CAD/CAM software system,
- Haas control simulator for each machine.

Through participation in the HTEC program, schools gain tangible benefits: students receive support through scholarships and skills certification, gaining practical knowledge that opens doors to attractive jobs in local companies.
Local entrepreneurs also benefit, as the industry needs qualified CNC operators who can work effectively and safely on modern machines. Abplanalp, as the only company in the industry cooperating with HTEC, provides its customers with both machine tools and trained operators, giving employers confidence that HTEC graduates are prepared to work as CNC machine tool operators.
