General description
The superbly equipped SC3000 Turning robotic cell is a standardized, well-designed, and fully equipped lathe operating station. Based on extensive experience in machine automation, the system is designed to be easy to install and operate. Combined with a high-quality lathe, it creates a unique production cell capable of raising the competitiveness of your production to an unprecedented level.
The key distinguishing feature of the ABB SC3000 series robotic cells is their built-in vision system. This provides unparalleled flexibility, significantly speeding up and simplifying system operation even in high-volume production environments. Parts do not require dedicated holders or separators.
The almost immediate benefits resulting from using the cell, in some cases in less than 12 months, are significant and tangible. The FlexLoader SC 3000 enables increased machine utilization of up to a phenomenal 90% compared to traditional manual operation, which typically yields machine utilization of around 50%. This results in a significantly faster return on investment and provides a sustainable competitive advantage.
The cell is equipped with a feeding and receiving system based on two conveyor belts, one for feeding the parts and the other for receiving them. Simply place the parts on the belt, and the robot, using a vision system, will recognize their position and pick them up, allowing them to be fed to subsequent production operations. A patented system prevents collisions between the gripper and the parts if they are too close together.
The FlexLoader SC 3000 comes complete with a fully integrated and programmed robot, ensuring rapid setup. The operator feeds parts onto the belt without stopping the machine. The feeder acts as a buffer, allowing the machine to operate without human intervention for several hours, depending on the size of the workpiece and the cycle time.
The system provides unparalleled flexibility and very fast changeover times when changing parts. The learning time for system programming is measured in days, while the system's learning time for a new part is measured in minutes. It is very simple and intuitive. The solution also allows for working with particularly sensitive parts.
